On February 5 2008 St Andrews School played Tower Hill High School. From the of set LJ Dimanche made a 3 point shot from deep. The next St Andrews possetion LJ penetrated to the basket and was fouled. After converting the two free throw Saints move a head 5 zero lead. The Saints never looked back. Dimanche Fished with 37 points 2 rebounds and 4 assist. LJ Dimanche was 5 points shy of breaking the Saint 41 point scoring record.

Lamar Puts Scare Into Texas Tech Before Falling, 79-77, In Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas - After playing from behind the entire game, Lamar had one final shot to upset Texas Tech. but the 3-pointer bounced off the rim as the Cardinals fell 79-77 at the United Spirit Arena Tuesday.

The Cardinals scored the game's next seven points and cut the margin to 75-73. Zeno made a pair of free throws before Lamar tied it on a pair of Hopkins free throws, which he followed up with a steal and fast-break layup.

After a missed layup by Charlie Burgess, Lamar has a chance to take the lead but coming out of a timeout, Dawkins was trapped and turned it over. On the ensuing possession, Dawkins was called for his fifth foul which allowed Roberson to make both of his attempts from the charity stripe.

Lamar will have a week off before welcoming Utah Valley State to the Montagne Center next Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT.

Lamar Routs Lyon College, 104-52, In Final Game Of 2007

Darren Hopkins posted a double-double as Lamar University doubled-up Lyon College, 104-52, at the Montagne Center Saturday night, Dec. 29, 2007.

Hopkins posted his first-career double-double with a 12-point, 10 rebound game.

Lamar will return to action when it faces Texas Tech at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock on New Year's Day. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT.

Donte’ Greene Ranked Among Top Rookie

Freshmen phenoms forward Donte’ Greene and point guard Jonny Flynn have scored in bunches this season for Syracuse and 32nd-year Hall of Fame head coach Jim Boeheim. Heading into Saturday’s BIG EAST tilt with the University of South Florida, the explosive scoring tandem ranks third nationally among freshmen with a combined 33.57 points per game average.

The flashy 6-11 forward leads all Syracuse scorers and ranks second in the BIG EAST with an 18.9 points per game average. Greene has surpassed the 20-points plateau eight times this season while scoring in double figures in 13 out of the 14 outings. After twice posting 25-point efforts in wins against Fordham (11/16), Washington (11/21) and East Tennessee State (12/15), he collected a career-best 26 points in a victory against versus Colgate on December 18.

Brown Reaches Career Milestone

Senior guard Gerald Brown reached a career milestone when he drained a three-pointer with 7:38 remaining in the first half to surpass 1,000 points for his career. He finished with 16 points for 1,010 in his career, including 128 scored during his two seasons at Providence. The Baltimore native needs 118 points to become the 28th player to score 1,000 points in a Loyola uniform. The last Greyhounds player to reach that milestone was Jason Rowe who achieved that feat as a junior in 1999. The team's leading scorer at 19.9 points per game, Brown is also the team leader in steals with 29 and is third in rebounding with 4.6 an outing.

Cannon named Landmark Conference MBB Player of the Week

Juniata College forward Brian Cannon (Fallston, Md./Fallston) has been named Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending December 9, 2007. Cannon averaged 20.3 points and 5.7 rebounds over three games, while leading Juniata to a 2-1 record for the week and a championship in the Messiah College Tournament. He averaged 22.5 points in the two tournament games and shot .633 from the floor, on his way to earning Tournament MVP honors. Cannon scored 23 points with eight rebounds in an 88-85 win over Manhattanville, then came back the next night to score 22 points in Juniata's win over Messiah in the tourney championship game. Cannon also had 16 points and eight rebounds earlier in the week against Saint Vincent. Juniata currently has a 5-4 overall record, 0-1 in the Landmark Conference. The Eagles begin a three-game, four-day exhibition tour in Canada on Dec. 19-22, before returning to NCAA competition on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, when they host Penn State-Altoona.

Christopher Pappas a senior at Fallston High School had a career high and a team high of 27 points scored on December 14, 2007 against North Harford. The first half of the game was slow going for both teams 25-18 Christopher at the half just with 7 points, but in second half he finishing strong with 27 points and 5 assists. Fallston won 67 to 53.

Greyhounds Stays Undefeated At Home

athelites client Gerald Brown scores 22 and Greyhounds use 30-5 start to win 77-54 over Manhattan. The Greyhounds dominated in every offensive category and never trailed in the game. In addition to an eye-popping 44-18 advantage in scoring from the paint, Loyola outrebounded the Jaspers 44-30 and shot 62 percent in the second half. Manhattan (5-4, 1-1 MAAC) shot just 29.6 percent (16-54) for the game.

The Gophers, who coming in had gone into overtime in their past three games, trailed Greensboro by as many as 23 points in the first half, yet at the end of 2 OT, the score was Greensboro 86 – Goucher 78.

Fallston Graduate Named Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for Nov. 27, 2007

athelites client Brian Cannon a Senior forward for Juniata College scored a career high 33 points to lead the Eagles to a 80-63 win over Westminster College. Cannon has also averaged 22.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, while leading the Eagles to a 3-1 start. He has Juniata's only double-double this season with a 28-point, 14-rebound performance against Lancaster Bible College, in the opening round of the 2007 Mutual Benefit Group "Doc" Greene Invitational.

Junior Guard From Baltimore Getting Fast Start to Season

athelites client Derek Wise, a 6-2 guard for Wheeling Jesuit University (WV) is a strong and explosive combo guard who will see time at the point guard and shooting guard positions. He had a great summer and looks to be one of the Cardinals' most improved players. Wise scored a season-high 18 points in the cardinal 66-74 loss to Fairmont State University which is Wheeling Jesuit first loss of the season. He also had three rebounds and four assists.

Edgewood Graduate Named CAC Men’s Basketball

athelites client Tyson Lesesne of St. Mary’s College (MD) earned the first Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week citation of the 2007-08 season as Lesesne picked up the honor for the week ending November 18. In a pair of games this past weekend, the senior guard averaged 21.5 points per game, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game en route to tournament MVP honors at the 27th Annual Eastern Connecticut State University Tip-Off Tournament. Lesesne also finished the weekend with a .560 field goal percentage, including going 4-of-9 from downtown. For the weekend, he went 11-for-11 from the free throw line.

Senior at Rutgers University is climbing up all-time rebounds list

Byron Joynes, a athelites client helped lead the Scarlet Knights to a 55-50 comeback victory over visiting Dartmouth on Tuesday Nov. 20th evening at the RAC. Joynes 6-9 from Baltimore, Md. had a career-high four blocks against Dartmouth, marking the first time this season and the sixth time in his career he blocked three or more shots. Joynes grabbed eight rebounds, giving him 416 for his career and moving him into 39th place on the Rutgers all-time rebounds list.

Syracuse University freshmen is getting national recognition

Donte Greene, a athelites client and a graduate of Towson Catholic High School, received recognition from ESPN for his star performance in his second college game with Syracuse. His 18 points tied for the team's high score of the night. Last year, Greene helped the No. 1 Owls achieve undefeated seasons in the Baltimore Catholic League and Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference. Syracuse moves on to play Ohio State at Madison Square Garden next week.

Towson Catholic point guard headed to University of Toledo

Taking a rare break from an unquestionably exhausting summer of AAU play, Larry Basield Jr. settled into his seat at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas last July to watch Team USA’s basketball team take part in an intra squad scrimmage. Bastfield was in Las Vegas with Team Melo for the Main Event AAU tournament. Almost every major college coaching staff had representatives on hand for the tournament, but the University of Toledo’s coaches had shown particular interest in the 5-foot-11, 178-pound point guard. On Saturday, Bastfield finally made it official, offering his verbal commitment to the Toledo coaching staff. The Towson Catholic star proved himself as a Division I player throughout his junior year, averaging approximately 12 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals per game. A self-proclaimed setup point guard with a deceiving power game, Bastfield helped guide the Owls to a 31-6 record and the MIAA A championship.
