“I’ve been to many soccer camps, so I know a ton of moves but I never used them in a game,” says Samantha Myrick, a freshman at Notre Dame Prep. That was before she trained with Athelites.
At Athelites, “we’d learn a skill, and then we’d practice it over and over again. We did this one drill where we would have the defense run at us, and we had to use the move we learned on them,” she explains. Now, when Samantha faces a defender in a game, she says, “It’s common sense. I use the moves I learned.”
It’s the coaching that enables Athelites to turn players into athletes who perform with great skill. “Ephraim is a really good trainer. He really knows what he’s doing,” explains Samantha.
In addition to practicing useful offensive moves, Samantha says that the running made a huge difference for her. Since she trained in the summer prior to trying out for her school’s JV team, she says, “Since this is my first year in high school, it gives me an advantage, because as a freshman I’m starting and playing most of the game.” When she tried out, “My endurance was a lot better than the other girls, and I have better foot skill’s than most of my team mates.” Samantha’s hard work with Athelites paid off for her with a starting position on her team.
If you want to improve your conditioning and skills before the season. Think about Athelites’ long term soccer training, “You should definitely do it!” says Samantha.
